Welcome to the 17th Annual Conservation Gala, hosted by Credit Valley Conservation Foundation at the beautiful Lionhead Golf and Conference Centre.

This event is presented by 407 ETR.

 

6:00 to 6:30 p.m.: Guest arrival - welcomed by Indigenous Drummers

7:00 p.m.: Opening remarks by Quentin Hanchard, CVC CAO & CVC Foundation Secretary-Treasurer

6:00 to 9:30 p.m.: Cocktail style reception with food stations, open bar, live music, Birds of Prey, roaming magician, photographic art display, Indigenous storytelling, photo booth and silent auction

9:00 p.m.: Silent auction Block A closes

9:00 to 9:15 p.m. Last chance for big ticket silent auction items!

9:15 p.m.: Closing remarks and announcement of funds raised

Located inside the Edinburgh Room, you will find our auction display. Check out the wide variety of items we have up for auction. 

To place your bids:

  1. Visit cvc.ca/GalaAuction.
  2. Sign in to your account by clicking the Sign In button at top right of screen.
  3. Go to the Auction Catalog either in the top right or in the menu under Home. Click View Catalog in the drop down under Auction Catalog.
  4. Browse items or search by category.
  5. Register your credit card in the system before bidding. You can register through the website by clicking Add Credit Card to Bid in any of the bid items, or at the registration table.
  6. Once you register, select an item you wish to bid on and click Your Bid to get started. Click Next.
  7. Confirm your bid with the green Confirm button.
  8. Your bid has been placed! Check back frequently to see updated bids.
  9. Need assistance? Check the ? button at the top left or find a gala volunteer.

LIVE MUSIC
Isaiash Cada of 416 Singers
Isaiah Cada is an Ojibway born and raised in Toronto. Growing up in Toronto Isaiah received teachings from many different elders and knowledge keepers. Though sitting at the drum as a child and learning, it wasn’t until Isaiah was 15 years old that he would explore and start his journey with the drum. Ever since then Isaiah has been actively sharing those teachings and his gifts with people across Turtle Island.

Sean Pinchin
Juno nominated and internationally recognized singer, songwriter, slide guitarist, Sean Pinchin has been a steady presence on the Festival circuit for nearly two decades. Since his first performance in 2005 while opening for Sawyer Brown as guitarist and second vocalist in the Gretchen Wilson Tribute Band, Sean has begun a regular pre-pandemic life on the road performing roughly 200 shows a year all through North America.

Chris Van Reid Band
The band "Chris Van Reid" has solidified its presence in the Canadian music landscape. With a lineup featuring Chris Caddell, Rick Van Dyk and Jimmy Reid, their collective talent, passion, and diverse musical backgrounds converge to create electrifying and unforgettable performances. The band members:

  • Chris Caddell: A musical virtuoso in his own right, Chris Caddell's history includes playing with iconic bands such as the Colin James Band, Big Wreck, and Sass Jordan, bringing a wealth of experience and creative energy to the ensemble.
  • Rick Van Dyk: A heavyweight in the world of hard rock and heavy metal, Rick Van Dyk's resume boasts bands like The Headstones, Helix, Dee Snyder, and membership in the licensed Metallica tribute band "Sandman," which even toured alongside Metallica, cementing his status as a formidable guitarist.
  • Jimmy Reid: A versatile musical maestro, Jimmy Reid's talents span various musical genres. His past collaborations encompass bands like Toronto, Sass Jordan, Andy Kim, and Soul Decision, showcasing his adaptability and musicianship across diverse styles.

MAGIC
Our Roaming Magician, Ben Train, will wow you with a world of magic.  Ben Train is an award winning mentalist who has performed thousands of shows across North America and Europe, and was recently featured on the hit show “Penn and Teller’s Fool Us”.

BIRDS OF PREY
The Birds of Prey display brought to you by Wild Ontario.  Learn about these beautiful creatures and experience their majestic presence. Take a selfie with the birds. Our volunteers would be happy to assist!

MAPLE SYRUP STATION
Experience the magic of maple syrup – a true authentic Canadian experience – at our Maple Syrup Station! Sample our delicious maple taffy and watch how it’s made. A variety of maple products are available for purchase. Simply check in with our station volunteer to register your credit card.

COGNAC STATION
Skip the line at the bar and opt for a refined glass of cognac at our Cognac Station instead. Additional fees apply but our volunteers will be happy to assist you.

INDIGENOUS SPACE
Step into the Indigenous Space and learn about Indigenous culture and heritage and how CVC is honouring commitments to truth and reconciliation.

*Please note: NO alcohol is permitted in this space and we ask that you not take pictures or videography out of respect for the sacred items.

Led by:

  • Raiden Levesque, Senior Coordinator, Credit Valley Trail and Indigenous Engagement at CVC. Raiden, also known as White Bear Standing, was born in Mississauga, and is part of the Thunderbird Clan. Raiden is a citizen of the Métis Nation Of Ontario; his ancestors have Irish, French, Cree, Saulteaux and Dakota ancestry. Raiden loves to participate in ceremonies any chance he can, and is considered an Oshkabewis (helper), Traditional Knowledge keeper, and Fire Keeper.
  • Melissa Stevenson. Melissa is an Anishnaabe-Cree kwe (woman) from Peguis First Nation in Northern Manitoba. She is part of the Bear Clan and a mom to three amazing little boys who are her world. She is a registered nurse by profession and is currently teaching Indigenous ways of knowing within a nursing program. She is board president of the Indigenous Network in Mississauga and believes that spiritual healing is vital in helping Indigenous peoples understand how to care for our physical health.
